Düsseldorf, Germany – Drupa – 5 May 2004 – Agfa today announced the availability of :AgfaJet Digital White Base (:ADWB) paper for use with dye-based inkjet proofers and printers. Developed in response to customers’ demands for a whiter, more opaque media option, :ADWB can be used for a wide range of proofing and printing applications. The 195 gram/square metre paper is thicker and more durable than average media. It is specially formatted for Agfa's :Sherpa 24m (61cm, 24 inch) and :Sherpa 44m (112cm, 44 inch) dye-based proofing systems, as well as the :Grand Sherpa 50m (127cm, 50 inch) and :Grand Sherpa 64m (162cm, 64 inch). “At Agfa, we strive to work with our customers to meet their business needs. Many of our customers recognised that there was a lack of thick, white, high-quality media on the market, so we responded by developing :ADWB,” said Willy Van Dromme, worldwide director of marketing for the proofing segment. “The :ADWB paper makes a great addition to our growing line of inkjet media.” :ADWB will be demonstrated with Agfa’s wide format printing and proofing solutions at Drupa, Hall 06/D27.
