Eric Ashby Selected as Mill Manager of the Year

TAPPI is pleased to announce that Mr. Eric Ashby of Domtar Windsor in Quebec, Canada, has been selected as PIMA’s Mill Manager of the Year. Mr. Ashby was selected for this honor due to his outstanding leadership, management, and organizational skills leading to improved results at the Domtar Windsor Mill.

"I am honored to receive this award and I do believe it is the reflection of the Windsor Team, a great team that I am very proud to be a part of and contribute to," said Ashby. "This award recognizes all the hard work and accomplishments achieved by our team in Windsor over the years and I’m proud to say they are many."

Mr. Ashby obtained a Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering at École Polytechnique, a French University located Montreal. He also holds an Executive MBA from Queen’s School of Business located in Ottawa and a Master in Pulp and Paper Engineering from McGill University in Montreal.

Mr. Ashby began his career as an Environmental Process Engineer at the defunct Repap Miramichi LWC mill located in New Brunswick, Canada. Throughout his career, he has held positions in six different pulp and paper facilities in four different provinces in Canada, the most recent of which is the Domtar Windsor Mill in Québec.

Mr. Ashby is entering his fourth year as Mill Manager at the Domtar Windsor Mill, an integrated facility producing 650,000 tons per year of uncoated freesheet, where he is responsible for 820 Domtar employees.
