Canon Europe celebrates new milestones in digital print leadership at Hunkeler Innovationdays 2015

Press release from the issuing company

LONDON – Canon Europe, world-leader in imaging solutions, is celebrating several new achievements at Hunkeler Innovationdays 2015. In addition to announcing its 500th Océ ColorStream system installation worldwide, Canon also launched its new Océ ColorStream 3000Z series, a high speed inkjet engine, available in parallel to the existing Océ ColorStream 3000 range, which is designed to occupy a smaller area for installation in space critical environments.

The new Océ ColorStream 3000Z was the centrepiece of the Canon stand at Hunkeler, combined with the latest Hunkeler cutting system and the new IBIS Smart Binder, to demonstrate a powerful and flexible end-to-end production printing solution.  Canon used this example installation to produce a wide range of example applications, including personalised consumer retail catalogues provided by Baur Verlag and Canon customer Digital Print Group; advertisement brochures from GU Verlag; daily editions of the VISCOM report; and copies of the Canon Cross Media Guide, designed to help print businesses to understand and sell cross media print services to their customers.

“We work very closely with our customers and our partners to understand the opportunities in commercial printing and to maximise the capabilities that our solutions deliver to those customers,” said Peter Wolff, European Director, Commercial Printing Group, Canon Europe. “The Canon stand at Hunkeler Innovationdays 2015 demonstrates our investment in innovation, but also aims to inspire customers with examples of end-to-end business solutions that Canon can provide, with complete workflows including software and finishing.”

Another major milestone announced by Canon at the Hunkeler Innovationdays was the launch of the Océ VarioPrint i300, a new high speed cut sheet inkjet commercial printer setting a new standard in cut sheet print volume and efficiency.

Peter Wolff continued: “In pursuit of providing all the tools that a print business needs to run profitably and sustainably, Canon has developed the Océ VarioPrint i300 to bridge the gap in volume and speed between the Canon imagePRESS and Océ ColorStream printers, to support businesses that want to quickly expand their digital cut sheet print production and handle a large number of different applications on one device.  Again, we have listened to our customers and invested accordingly to deliver an inspirational printing solution.”

Representatives from Canon Europe also participated in the Interquest and DoXnet conferences running in parallel to the Hunkeler Innovationdays, and presented several recent customer success stories to inspire visitors.

“Our experience and success with our customers is a testament to our passion in the commercial print industry,” said Peter Wolff.  “We want to share our ideas for best practice and inspire print businesses to understand how they can work with us to be successful.  This is why the Hunkeler Innovationdays is very important for Canon – it is a forum for inspiration for our customers.  Canon has made exceptional progress in digital commercial print in the last two years, and we look forward to sharing further success with our customers at the Hunkeler Innovationdays 2017.”
