CHICAGO--May 5, 2004-- R.R. Donnelley & Sons Company has been awarded a $300 million multi-year contract with JCPenney. The agreement represents a significant extension of an existing relationship in which RR Donnelley produces catalogs and provides related premedia services. RR Donnelley also provides JCPenney with logistics services through RR Donnelley Logistics, and with forms, labels, commercial printing, warehousing, and pick and pack distribution services through Moore Wallace, an RR Donnelley company. "JCPenney is a model for multi-channel retailers, reaching customers through retail stores, catalogs and via the Internet," said RR Donnelley Chief Executive Officer Mark A. Angelson. "This year will mark the 40th year RR Donnelley has done business with JCPenney, and we are pleased to have an agreement that will extend our relationship far into the future. Multi-year agreements are mutually beneficial because they enable us to work more closely with the customer on an ongoing basis to increase efficiency and effectiveness. Such contracts also strengthen our revenue base. Overall, the range of products and services we provide to JCPenney illustrates the breadth and depth of RR Donnelley's capabilities."
