Burlington, MA (May 4, 2004) - Brigham Young University has added the DocuSheeter DT-Lightweight Paper (LWP) roll feed system from Roll Systems to their Xerox DocuTech 6135-LWP printer at their print facility in Provo, Utah. BYU converted their Independent Study lesson manual application from 20 pound bond paper to lighter weight 13.6 pound bond. The DocuSheeter DT-LWP brought paper cost savings to make this move even more cost effective. "With the move to lightweight paper, we have reduced our postage charges by 15%. And, the DocuSheeter with three-hole punch option made the move an even better bargain, by allowing us to use less-expensive roll paper and do hole-punches in-line," said Carol Holland, manager of Production Digital Center at BYU. Buying lightweight paper in rolls allows BYU to avoid the 20% or greater price premium associated with ream-wrapped lightweight sheets. In addition, operationally stable in-line roll sheeting, with its reduced sensitivity to environmental variables, provides important reliability benefits for lightweight paper applications. DocuSheeter DT-LWP consists of Roll's quick-change unwinder, cutter, grain rotator and sheet transport, all adapted for this special application. DocuSheeter produces up to 80,000 lightweight sheets from one roll to continuously feed a DocuTech for hours.
