RockTenn donates $8,000 to TAPPI Trees project

Press release from the issuing company

ATLANTA, Ga. – Thanks to the generous donation of $8,000 from RockTenn, the TAPPI Trees project has reached its goal. Representatives from TAPPI, RockTenn and other sponsors will be planting 100 trees in Decatur, Ga., on February 27, from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m.

During the past 100 years, the amount of U.S. forestland has remained at about 750 million acres, despite the U.S. population tripling in that same period.  Not coincidentally, over that same time, TAPPI and its members have been dedicated to the technical advancement of the pulp, paper, tissue, corrugated and allied industries.

In recognition of TAPPI’s centennial anniversary and to increase awareness of how the pulp and paper industry sustains well-managed forests, TAPPI teamed up with Trees Atlanta to commence this initiative.

Trees Atlanta provides a two-year warrantee on each tree, which includes weekly watering, mulching, pruning and weeding maintenance.

To participate in planting these trees, please contact Ben Hopper at 770-209-7248 or [email protected].
