ACTS Conference renamed to "Instructional Materials Resource Conference"

Press release from the issuing company

The Advisory Commission On Textbook Specifications (ACTS) is pleased to announce that the ACTS Conference (formerly known as the ACTS Commission Meeting) is being renamed the “Instructional Materials Resource Conference” effective for the 2015 conference. This will allow for the conference title to more accurately portray the purpose of the meeting.

Over the last four years the ACTS Conference has changed format and focus. The original ACTS Commission Meetings, held in conjunction with the SIMRA (then NASTA) meetings, took place over a 3-4 day period. In 2011 the ACTS Conference was reorganized into a 2 day event. In addition, and most importantly, the subject matter under discussion, which was heavily weighted toward ACTS Commission issues, is now focused on the development of educational resources, review and adoption issues, and collaboration between review coordinators from the states and representatives of the publishing and instructional materials manufacturing industries. These issues will insure the continued improvement in the development of educational materials.

The 2015 Instructional Materials Resource Conference will be held on July 28th and 29th at the Hyatt Regency St. Louis at the Arch. Registration will begin the evening of July 27th. In addition, the ACTS Executive Committee will meet the evening of July 27th.
