Press release from the issuing company

Ghent, Belgium – Four Pees, an international distributor for the print and publishing industries, takes on the distribution of IC3D Suite and IC3D Carton Edition in Europe. Developed by US headquartered Creative Edge Software, IC3D Suite is the world’s first 3D real-time packaging simulation and design application that combines multiple packaging disciplines in one product.

“With packaging design becoming significantly more important in a product’s go-to-market strategy and the pressure on design turn-around times constantly increasing, this is the right product at the right time”, comments Tom Peire, CEO at Four Pees. “Four Pees has solutions for automating production and quality control of packaging products. With IC3D Suite we are now expanding our offering to brand owners, packaging designers, and printers with an easy to implement, fun to use solution that will quickly prove its return on investment to our resellers and customers.”

All-in-one packaging visualization solution

IC3D Suite significantly reduces the time and money spent to create 3D packaging visualizations, thus improving margins. As one application it can be used for all different kinds of packing designs; cartons, flexibles, bottles, store visualization, etc.

Where many other 3D applications require a specialized, dedicated 3D artist, any artwork operator can use IC3D Suite. IC3D Suite allows 2D artwork to be directly imported from Adobe Illustrator and mapped onto 3D models as a base artwork or label.

When the design is done hi-resolution images, PDF proofs for mark-up or movies can be exported in order to share it with colleagues and customers. IC3D Suite models can also be exported to be printed on 3D printers for prototyping.

Nick Gilmore, CEO at Creative Edge Software explains: “IC3D Suite is amazingly easy to use for anyone who knows Adobe Illustrator or Creative Suite. At the click of a finger you can see what a product will look like in various environments with different lighting conditions. IC3D Suite significantly decreases the time spent to visualize a product, hence also increases the variations one can generate to come to the optimal packaging design.”

Infinite 3D Models

IC3D Suite is delivered with an ever-expanding model library of common packaging models. Supporting all major 3D applications, other packaging models can easily be added to the library. In addition to the model library, IC3D Suite ships with a template library allowing users to create custom models for bottles, cartons and many common flexible types, like gusseted bags, pillow bags, sachets, pouches and many more making the model creation and recreation process considerably faster. To use a library model it’s as simple as dragging a model from the library and dropping it into the scene.
If a model is not available, Creative Edge Software’s Model Generation Service can create any model desired.

Quick and Easy Material Creation

When creating 3D models in a 3D application that supports exporting of materials, those materials and the associated bitmaps can be loaded into IC3D Suite. To create sophisticated materials like refracting glass or metallic effects like gold foil, holographic or even lenticular effects, the IC3D material editor is designed to simplify this process. Once the surface materials for the model is created they can be easily applied to using drag and drop to the correct parts of the model or by using the Object Editor.

Fast and accurate 3D rendering

With IC3D Suite’s patented “Smart Wrap” mapping technology labels and artwork can be placed accurately onto complex models without the need for tedious coordinates-based mapping of artwork and textures. The 3D rendering model works with Image Based Lighting, which uses high-dynamic-range environments to simulate accurate and realistic lighting. This allows for instant visualization of changes in the background, material or even lightning conditions.

To introduce IC3D Suite David van Driessche will give an English webinar on November 19 at 4 pm CET. Free registration is possible via this link
