KPB Printing Finds Winning Combination with KODAK ACHIEVE Platesetter and KODAK SONORA XP Process Free Plates

Press release from the issuing company

ROCHESTER, N.Y. - KPB Printing, a Colorado-based printing and graphics company, is saving time and money for its customers by combining the KODAK ACHIEVE Platesetter with KODAK SONORA XP Process Free Plates.

KPB Printing has long provided digital and offset printing services for Colorado Springs and the surrounding area, primarily serving non-profit organizations and ministries. In a competitive market with limited budgets, KPB sought to find a more cost-efficient solution to serve its customer base. The company quickly recognized the potential advantages of combining KODAK ACHIEVE Platesetter and KODAK SONORA Plates.  KPB moved forward with a bold dual implementation and immediately began to see a return on its investment.

“Our customers were asking for more cost-efficient printing with shorter turn-around times than we could previously accommodate,” said Kirk Young, Owner, KPB Printing. “Now, we can provide the high-quality print our customers need quickly and at a very competitive price.”

The KODAK ACHIEVE Platesetter gives KPB rapid and reliable platemaking capability that works seamlessly with KODAK SONORA XP Plates.  “We used to travel to a service bureau 15 minutes away to get plates made. With the KODAK ACHIEVE Platesetter and KODAK SONORA XP Plates, we can run four-color plates in the same time it used to take us just to get to the service bureau,” Young noted.

The use of SONORA Plates also delivers environmental benefits by eliminating the need for processing chemicals.  “While efficiency was a top priority, we also wanted to find a process-free solution. With SONORA XP Plates, these two priorities are no longer mutually exclusive,” Young added.

“The combined economic and environmental benefit of an investment in KODAK ACHIEVE Platesetters with KODAK SONORA XP Process Free Plates has become increasingly popular with printers around the world,” said Todd Bigger, Director, Worldwide Product Management, Graphics Solutions, Kodak. “The KODAK ACHIEVE Platesetter and KODAK SONORA XP Plates were designed to complement one another, so we expect more printing companies to follow KPB Printing’s lead in deploying these solutions together.”
