Pitney Bowes Wins Department of Homeland Security Contract

Press release from the issuing company

New Solution to Consolidate and Streamline Production and Distribution of Millions of Notices

STAMFORD, Conn. - Pitney Bowes Inc. today announced the U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS) has awarded the company a $1.4 million contract for mail and document processing technology. The new solution will allow the U.S. Citizens and Immigration Services (USCIS) to consolidate the production and distribution of millions of critical immigration services communications into two processing centers, streamline its communications and notification processes, reduce overall production costs, and improve delivery.

Each year, USCIS, which is part of DHS, receives approximately 7.5 million immigration applications and petitions for a range of benefits including employment authorization, lawful permanent residency, and citizenship. The new end-to-end solution by Pitney Bowes includes software to manage the electronic files and print streams, printers and inserters to produce the communications, and meters to accurately evidence the postage.

“Pitney Bowes has a long-standing partnership with the Department of Homeland Security and we are delighted to have been selected to provide an innovative technology solution to help ensure effective communications with immigrants and citizens,” said Mark Shearer, executive vice president and president, Pitney Bowes SMB Mailing Solutions. “By leveraging innovative mail and document technology, we are able to help the USCIS accomplish its mission, enhance communications with its constituents, and improve operational efficiency.”
