QuarkVista previewed at Drupa

Press release from the issuing company

DÜSSELDORF, Germany (Drupa) -- May 10, 2004 -- At Drupa 2004 today Quark Inc. gave conference-goers a sneak preview of QuarkVista, a forthcoming image manipulation XTensions module for QuarkXPress 6. QuarkVista will integrate simple yet elegant image manipulation tools into QuarkXPress. "QuarkVista will give creative professionals a new image manipulation tool designed exclusively with common page layout tasks in mind," said Jürgen Kurz, senior vice president of product development for Quark. "Dedicated tools are overkill for some users. QuarkVista puts everyday features like color correction and other image adjustments at your fingertips right inside QuarkXPress." Non-destructive image filters and adjustments In addition to standard image adjustments like color balance, levels, brightness, and contrast, QuarkVista will allow users to apply a variety of common filters to images used in a layout. QuarkVista filters are non-destructive, so users can change filter parameters at any time without worrying about losing image data. QuarkVista can also optimize images for output by applying transformations such as scale, crop, angle, and skew to the images collected for output. The software can also perform graphic file format conversions at this time, and includes support for popular image file formats like EPS, JPEG, and TIFF. Pricing and availability The QuarkVista XTensions module will be made available to users of QuarkXPress 6 at no charge. Quark has not yet announced a release date for the QuarkVista software. Customers who are interested in testing a pre-release version of QuarkVista should send an e-mail message to [email protected].
