Seeking a high-performing flatbed model to add to its digital printing stable, the San Diego, Calif.-based firm chose Screen’s newest wide-format printer — the Truepress Jet W3200UV HS. The Truepress Jet W3200UV HS will have its North American debut at SGIA Expo 2014 to be held October 22-24 in Las Vegas, Nev. Digital One Color will install the printer the same month and begin delivering true flatbed quality on pieces up to 5 feet by 10 feet soon after.

“Speed and quality were definitely the main drivers in our decision to pair the Truepress Jet W3200UV HS with our existing Truepress Jet2500UV hybrid printer,” said Paul Moebius, owner. “We have a lot of faith in Screen technology. With this new high-speed flatbed device, we can print larger graphics applications for larger retail clients. It will allow us to raise the bar on print quality and at the same time quickly turn around lower-margin work in an economical fashion.”

Screen developed the Truepress Jet W3200UV HS to meet rapidly changing customer needs in the high-quality advertising and interior decor markets. The Truepress Jet W3200UV HS, featuring six colors plus two white ink channels, hits a top print speed of 1,614 square feet per hour. Its impressive throughput is matched print for print by the exceptionally fine detail and color fidelity that Digital One Color’s customers demand.

“Screen has done an outstanding job on the engineering and the flatbed design of the Truepress Jet W3200UV HS,” Moebius said. “The drop placement is extremely accurate. The printer handles precisely aligned double-sided boards for perfect print-to-cut registration. It produces sellable print quality at the highest end of the speed scale. We have seen no evidence of banding from the repeated inkjet head passes.”
