Mutoh’s G7 Calibrator Awarded IDEAlliance G7 System Certification

Press release from the issuing company

Alexandria, Virginia – IDEAlliance® announced that Mutoh America’s G7 Calibrator software has been awarded G7® System Certification. Mutoh's G7 Calibrator software, part of its ColorVerify Pro/G7 process control solution, was independently validated to the strict conformance criteria established in the IDEAlliance G7 System Certification Program, which evaluates the ability of a software system to calibrate a printing device to meet the G7 methodology. Mutoh’s G7 Calibrator joins an elite family of Certified G7 Systems, including systems by Alwan, Bodoni, Chromix, ColorGATE, Fujifilm, Heidelberg, and Konica Minolta.

Steve Bonoff, Executive Vice President of IDEAlliance, commented, “The G7 methodology is becoming the de-facto standard of quality for both print service providers and the brands they serve. We applaud Mutoh for their successful development of the G7 Calibrator system and their commitment to supporting their client’s implementation and integration of G7.”

“Calibration to G7 is an important benchmark for many of our customers,” said Christopher Brown, engineering manager for Mutoh America's Advanced Engineering Group (AEG). “Not only does G7 calibrate each printer to a common visual appearance, it also establishes a known good condition the printer can be recalibrated back to should color begin to drift during production.” Brown added, “From a process control perspective, G7 has proven to be a solid solution.”
