i-Sub Digital Marks Successful Mimaki Open Days

Press release from the issuing company

KETTERING, UK - i-Sub Digital has closed the doors on another successful open house event, showcasing the latest Mimaki printing equipment to a record number of visitors.

Taking place at the Crewe headquarters of exclusive Mimaki UK and Ireland distributor Hybrid Services on October 8th and 9th 2014, the open days  attracted print companies, design houses and signmaking firms who experienced in-depth demonstrations of a variety of printing solutions.

The Mimaki JV300 inkjet printer made its UK debut at the event after appearances at European shows this year. With vibrant orange and light black inks, exceptional speeds even at its highest quality setting and a eminently affordable price tag, the Mimaki JV300 is the industry's new workhorse for banners, posters and even photo-quality prints.

Also on show was i-Sub Digital's exclusive Digi-Foil digital foiling system, which was used at the event to create foil effects on beer pump clips, packaging for toiletries, chocolate boxes and other items. Incorporating a Mimaki UJF-6042 desktop printer, foil material and a heated applicator, Digi-Foil creates metallic and embossed effects identical to traditional foiling in a fraction of the time and with minimal wastage.

The Mimaki UJF-6042HG with higher clearance was also demonstrated with the Kebab add-on for 360° direct printing and foiling onto cylindrical items such as candles, bottles, packaging and gift items. Just five minutes on the rotating system can produce an intricately decorated or personalised item.

At the other end of the scale was the Mimaki JFX200 UV LED ?atbed printer with a 2.5m x 1.3m bed to maximise productivity on industry standard-sized media, speeds of up to 25sqm/hr and the option of white and clear ink – ideal for accurate printing direct onto rigid media up to 50mm thick. The Mimaki JFX200 has a compact footprint and uses around 25% of the power of an equivalent metal halide UV printer, mainly due to its low-energy LED UV lamps, making it an affordable choice for sign and graphics businesses.

The Hybrid Services demonstration suite featured a host of other Mimaki equipment, from the vast JFX500-2131 flatbed to the hugely popular CJV30 print-and-cut solution, the high-speed and top-quality Mimaki UJV500 UV roll-to-roll machine and Mimaki JV400SUV for rich, glossy prints.

"We had great couple of days in Crewe," says i-Sub Digital Director Andy Spreag. "Visitor numbers were up from last year and we had a great deal of interest in all of the Mimaki technologies offered in the various ranges, especially the Mimaki UJF-6042 with Digi-Foil and Kebab systems – they've really grabbed the attention of businesses looking for new and exciting ways to expand.

"The incredible speeds of the Mimaki JV300 also got our visitors talking. For such an affordable machine to reach speeds of 105sqm/hr it can be a real game-changer for print businesses."

He adds: "Open house events like this are an excellent opportunity to really see printing equipment in action, ask questions and even bring in your own files to print live. We're looking forward to our next event."
