7 New Features to ROLAND 700 HiPrint Now Available

Press release from the issuing company

Developments driven by customer feedback will deliver higher margins and lower costs

Through a commitment to continuous research and development, Manroland Sheetfed will be offering seven new features to its ROLAND 700 HiPrint range, confirming its place at the forefront of offset printing and offering printers around the world a whole new set of capabilities to derive ever greater value from their investments.

Driven by customer feedback, seven new features have been incorporated, initially into the ROLAND 706 LV HiPrint, soon to be offered across the entire ROLAND 700 HiPrint range.

Key to these new features is Manroland’s simultaneous plate loading technology (SPL). Now, at the press of a button, printers will be able carry out plate loading and blanket cleaning all at the same time, saving up to 7.5 minutes per job, which taken over consecutive shifts, could add up to 2,700,000 sheet capacity into a printer’s annual workflow. The result is significantly decreased work costs, with increased margins and greater competitiveness.

Also included is Manroland Sheetfed’s brand new ‘suction belt’ sheet-guiding technology with suction belts replacing traditional suction rollers. The ability to grip paper over a larger area delivers more precise control over paper feeding and greater precision sheet braking and control even at high speeds.

A third key benefit is a significant increase in maximum printing speed, from 16,000 to 17,200 sheets per hour, delivering opportunities for increased output and vastly improved efficiency.

Efficiency receives an even greater boost with Manroland Sheetfed’s proven LEC (Low Energy Curing) UV drying technology. Where conventional UV curing may incur higher costs, Manroland’s LEC UV curing will offer potentially reduced cost through lower power consumption and a smaller footprint. Developed in Japan after earthquakes necessitated lower consumption of power, then refined in Europe, LEC UV drying technology utilizes slightly enhanced inks which respond better to low level UV. The process uses less energy and therefore offers to lower production costs.

Manroland’s ‘eye in the sky’ InlineInspector now incorporates dramatically improved error detection through 100% monitoring of every sheet, enabling thorough review and quality maintenance at even the highest speeds. The result - less error, less waste and higher levels of customer satisfaction!

A new inkjet sheet numbering device ensures pinpoint accuracy in identification of errors, with every single sheet printed with its own unique number. The end result is less waste quicker turnaround, and ultimately higher margins.

Finally, Manroland Sheetfed’s Inline Foiling technology now also offers indexing, enabling printers to reduce material wastage by between 19% and 62% per job.

Rafael Penuela, Chief Executive Officer, Manroland Sheetfed GmbH said, “In the fast moving and dynamic print industry the issues of lead time, print quality and total production costs constantly challenge print businesses of every size. The new features available on the ROLAND 700 HiPrint range go a considerable way to addressing these challenges, and our R&D team is rightly very proud of these developments. With reduced make-ready times, reduced material waste, increased productivity and enhanced print quality, we expect customers to see a significant improvement in performance and lower total production costs.”

These new features from Manroland Sheetfed underline the company’s commitment to ever greater customer satisfaction through rigorous and ongoing review of its products and processes. Customers and interested parties are invited to experience these and other innovations first hand at the Manroland Print Technology Center, which, for over 25 years, has been a meeting point for print specialists from around the world.
