Press release from the issuing company

Award Honors a Previous MUST SEE 'EMS Winner That Has
Had a Major and Long-lasting Impact on the Graphic Communications Industry

Chicago, IL - The Xeikon DCP/50D and DCP/50SP digital web presses have been selected as the recipients of the 2014 MUST SEE 'EMS Legacy Award at GRAPH EXPO 14. The award honors a specific product chosen by the Selection Committee from among past MUST SEE 'EMS winners for having a significant, lasting and continuing influence on the graphic communications industry. The honor was announced at the EXECUTIVE OUTLOOK conference on the opening day of GRAPH EXPO 14, which runs from September 28 throughOctober 1 in Chicago's McCormick Place together with co-located CPP EXPO.

Past MUST SEE 'EMS winners are automatically entered into consideration for the Legacy Award.  Judges looked for a product that has inspired innovation and change, not just one that has been popular. The 2014 Legacy Award winner was chosen by the MUST SEE 'EMS Selection Committee, which is comprised of 32 industry experts, journalists, and consultants from around the world. The Selection Committee also chooses each year's new "must see" products to be shown at GRAPH EXPO, with their highest scores determining the "Best of Category" winners from among the 2014 MUST SEE 'EMS competitors.

"The 2014 MUST SEE 'EMS Legacy award recognizes Xeikon's important and lasting contribution to full-color digital web printing," said GASC President Ralph Nappi. "The DCP/50D and DCP/50SP devices introduced duplex digital printing of full-color B2-sized pages at a time when most digital web presses were only capable of monochrome reproduction, changing the way the industry and its customers thought about digital print."

Other comments from the MUST SEE 'EMS Selection Committee included:

"Xeikon's DCP/50D and DCP/50SP presses were groundbreaking devices that established the feasibility of full-color digital printing on a continuous web."

"The DCP ushered in full-color single pass digital printing to the commercial and packaging markets."
