Aleyant Systems Will Show Technology Demo of Print Job Manager at Graph Expo

Press release from the issuing company

Up and running quickly: a revolutionary approach to Print Job Management

Wheaton, IL. Aleyant Systems, an innovative leader in providing robust software services to the graphic communications industry at value-driven prices, today announced that it is developing a new print job management solution. Aleyant Print Job Manager, an entry level cloud-based print job management solution, will be shown as a technology demonstration at Graph Expo, scheduled for September 28 through October 1 at McCormick Place in Chicago. Aleyant will be located in Booth #539 at the show.

“2014 has been a busy year at Aleyant,” said Greg Salzman, President of Aleyant Systems. “We’ve added numerous new capabilities and integrations to make Pressero even more valuable to customers. We have expanded our geographic footprint to Europe and Latin America through our recent deal with Spanish reseller Datafont. Now we have turned our attention to offering a solution for which we have gotten many, many requests—an entry-level, easy-to-use and affordable print job management solution. We are looking forward to receiving feedback on this new offering from Graph Expo visitors.”

Salzman adds, “My anecdotal experience is that only about a third of the printing companies in North America have fully-implemented the various types of print job management solutions available in the market. Some companies simply don’t want to or can’t make the necessary investments in conventional systems, or the project becomes much more complex than was promised by the vendor. Worst case, an expensive investment just becomes shelf-ware. We wanted to offer something different based on customer requirements and new technology that will bring the basic benefits of streamlined management of work flowing through the shop to printing companies of any size without a great deal of complexity or expense.”'

Aleyant Print Job Manager is designed to do just that. It includes the basic modules that most print businesses want in a job management solution: a fast means of generating market-driven pricing, job management, inventory control, planning and estimating. In line with Aleyant’s open systems approach, Print Job Manager is cloud based, has an open API, and uses responsive design for a mobile-first approach. Salzman explains, “A cloud-based software as a service (SaaS) solution means companies can take advantage of this offering on a ‘pay as you go’ basis without a large up-front investment. It also means that we can rapidly deliver enhancements to the product as they are developed, reducing time to market. And finally, of course, a mobile-first design is critical in times when you never know how and when and from what platform people will need to access information and accomplish tasks. Increasingly, even in the production environment, tablets are being used to give workers untethered access to production processes and even to manage processes across multiple locations from a single view. This improves productivity and gives the business better access to real-time information for fact-based decision making. It also means that sales people in the field can access the solution from a tablet or smart-phone, making it fast and easy to provide customers with estimates, job status and more.”

Aleyant Print Job Manager will come preloaded with lots of standard information and is so simple to use that a company can literally be up and running in a very short period of time, with the ability to continue refining the system over time to deliver the most possible value to the business.

“We are strong believers in the importance of a print business having a print job management system in place that can streamline operations and deliver real-time business and production data,” Salzman says. With digital workflows and the more process-oriented approach to printing that is becoming common today, there is a lot less mystery in print production than perhaps there was in the past. Print Job Manager is the embodiment of taking that mystery out of running the business and putting efficient job management within reach of any printing company with minimal investment and minimal ongoing costs.”

Salzman continues, “We sincerely hope that Print Job Manager will encourage more printing operations to take control of job management in a new and different way. We also believe that once they have seen the value of doing so, many will quickly outgrow this solution as they more rapidly implement the modern business practices it enables. With that in mind, we are working closely with our Print MIS partners to ensure that all of the data collected by Print Job Manager can be seamlessly migrated to a more robust print MIS solution. This is the best of all worlds—fast, easy and affordable implementation of job management and the ability to painlessly migrate upstream when the time is right without the need to re key data.”

Out of the box, Print Job Manager will be integrated with Aleyant’s web-to-print solution, Pressero, for an affordable end-to-end solution. Aleyant will also be showing Pressero at Graph Expo.
