Ultimate Bindery v4 selected as 2014 MUST SEE 'EMS

Thursday, September 25, 2014

Press release from the issuing company

Montreal, Canada - Ultimate TechnoGraphics Inc. will showcase new Ultimate Bindery v4 at Graph Expo 2014 booth 541, a 2014 MUST SEE ‘EMS award winner in the Management Software category. Ultimate Bindery v4 sets a new standard in workflow finishing automation for hybrid printing.

New User Interface
Ultimate Bindery v4 offers a new responsive web-based user interface (UI) allowing the management of finishing automation from a computer or a tablet. Operators and managers can now define and manage JDF finishing flows and automate each bindery device, each operating a specific finishing transformation on a printed project, from any location. Setting up a perfect bound book, a saddle-stitched brochure or a set of multiple invitation orders ganged together on a guillotine from a workflow perspective is made easy. Ultimate Bindery v4 has 17 finishing machine JDF drivers allowing a check on the job before printing.

New Functionality
In addition to the web UI, new functionality was developed to meet customer demand such as: the definition of user accounts and user rights, the ability to view active jobs and error jobs rapidly from a dashboard as well as the job queue for each individual finisher, storing job history and being able to filter and report on processed jobs.

More Benefits
Ultimate Bindery is an automation tool that makes touch-less end-to-end workflow possible and profitable. It is a workflow’s finishing touch as it eliminates manual make-ready at the finisher allowing for ultimate accuracy, waste reduction and time saving. The automation engine now sits as a Windows Service and offers customers the ability to have the processes run as the background on a computer or a server.

Connectivity and Integrity
The new Ultimate Bindery v4 web platform can be integrated into a cloud environment with a workflow, MIS or ordering system permitting true automation. Ultimate Bindery v4 is the ultimate way to create and manage a production finishing flow, to add and manage new devices, and to hold and resubmit jobs.

Ultimate Bindery v4 not only offers automation benefits, but it also offers validation benefits. Ultimate Bindery alerts the user before printing, if a job is not suitable for the finisher it intends to use. Like preflighting prevents bad files from being printed, Ultimate Bindery prevents inaccurate impositions to be sent to the printer and finisher.
