Baker Goodchild announces NVQ training programme with GB Training for personnel

Birmingham-based direct mail fulfilment and print management services provider, Baker Goodchild, has announced that it is working in partnership with GB Training to provide an NVQ qualification programme for a number of members of its personnel. 

Eight members of the Baker Goodchild team are currently working towards NVQ Level 2 qualifications, on courses which will last one year in duration.

Once completed, the participants can then opt to go further gaining a Level 3 NVQ qualification and then choose to undertake another course of their choice.

During the first year of their NVQ Level 2 study, the Baker Goodchild team members participating are given monthly assignments as part of their course work, along with a regular monthly visit from an assessor, to review the work that is being undertaken and completed.

The Baker Goodchild personnel participating in the GB Training NVQ Level 2 programme are; Marketing Executive, Mohammed Pandair, Team Leading and Team Management course; Account Director, Matthew Perkins, Business Administration; International Mailing Specialist, Kris Nero and Data Laser Executive Asif Mohammed, who are both on an IT Support System course. Credit Controller, Nicola Broadmore, Business Administration, Account Manager, Bally Bahia, Business Management; Mail Machine Engineer, Ciaran Malloy, Team Leading/Team Management; and Warehouse Apprentice, Kevin Green, is studying Warehouse and Storage Management.

The NVQ training programme forms part of Baker Goodchild’s development initiative for its team, providing a clear training and career path, where they can develop their skills, and also broaden and enhance their knowledge of the industry.

Many team members do want to study and gain further knowledge about various topics, however it can be hard working full time and then studying part time.

Education is priceless and there is nothing more rewarding than giving a colleague the opportunity to better themselves.”
