EYSINS, SWITERLAND – Kodak will reveal how newspaper publishers and distributors can increase revenue using the company’s latest printing technology at the Kodak booth at this year’s Distripress Congress.

The event will take place on the 29 Sept.-2 Oct. at the Palais des Festivals et des Congrès in Cannes, France, where Kodak will discuss products including the KODAK PROSPER 6000P Press, the KODAK PROSPER S-Series Printers and the KODAK VERSAMARK VL4200 Printing System.

Printing solutions to grow your business

Launched this year, the PROSPER 6000P Press is leading the market in cost effective digital color printing solutions. Designed specifically for publishing platforms such as books and newspapers which use lightweight paper and low-to-medium ink laydowns, the PROSPER 6000P Press delivers high print speeds and application flexibility due to its innovative transport, drying and writing systems and advanced press management technology. At the Congress, Kodak will demonstrate how newspaper printers and publishers can leverage the technology in order to gain a competitive advantage. 

Variable print solutions for higher engagement

The PROSPER S-Series Printers are unparalleled when it comes to maximising data capabilities, offering variable print content to traditional offset printed newspapers including gaming, variable advertising and content localization by cultural identity and geography. 

At 3000 fpm (900 mpm), the S-Series offers a higher-performance choice for newspaper hybrid printing. Kodak will show how customers can use the PROSPER S-Series System to help increase circulation and provide new data advertising services and imprint other variable components with unique codes, including consecutive lottery numbers, variable QR codes, and changing artwork, across a width of up to 10.56cm at full production speed. These solutions significantly extend the useful life of the web press with a comparatively small incremental investment. 

Capacity to grow

The VERSAMARK VL4200 System is currently used to print more than 70 newspapers across Europe. The system’s excellent productivity affords distributors the capacity to increase the number of titles they produce, helping them increase sales. It also delivers the high-end results that publishers and advertisers demand, allowing distributors to expand into the commercial sector and generate new sources of revenue.
