Allen Datagraph Systems, Inc. displays two complete digital label systems at Labelexpo

Press release from the issuing company

Stand features the iTech CENTRA HS Digital Label System and iTech AXXIS HS Digital Label System

Derry, NH – At stand 6115 during Labelexpo Americas, September 9-11 in Rosemont, IL, Allen Datagraph Systems Inc. (ADSI) will demonstrate its two most productive digital label systems: the iTech CENTRA HS Digital Label System and iTech AXXIS HS Digital Label System. The iTech Series digital label systems are complete turnkey solutions that enable label converters to digitally print and finish smaller quantities of consumer-quality labels, in any shape, without costs and delays associated with traditional manufacturing processes.

“With thousands of systems installed worldwide, Allen Datagraph has been very successful selling our cost-effective, complete digital label solutions, including the iTech CENTRA HS, table-top iTech AXXIS HS and table-top iTech Talon. While a trend has been towards large, expensive print systems, the truth is many companies need a system that addresses the short run requirements of their businesses. Our systems serve this market very well, offering a way to both print and finish labels digitally, delivering consumer-quality labels,” explains Mark Vanover, ADSI VP, Sales and Marketing. “We understand that printers and converters—the primary audience at Labelexpo—like the idea of utilizing a cost effective solution to serve the needs of their short run business while brand owners like the idea of developing an in-house capability.”

iTech CENTRA HS: More efficient system for longer run lengths

“A couple years ago we saw that there was a missing opportunity between a table-top system and the high cost digital presses. The iTech CENTRA HS Digital Label System makes economic sense, as it allows converters to augment their current capabilities – as opposed to making a large capital investment on a digital press to replace their existing print technologies. The iTech CENTRA HS Digital Label System offers better economics for printing and finishing 1,000 to 3,000 linear-foot run lengths than other technologies,” explains Vanover.

The iTech CENTRA HS Digital Label System combines the iTech CENTRA HS Digital Label Printer with the iTech CENTRA HS Digital Label Finisher. It’s a complete roll-to-roll solution — for a fraction of the cost of other digital presses – along with low, on-going operational expenses. With the iTech CENTRA HS Digital Label System, label convertors can lower production costs and waste created by smaller quantity jobs — while offering new capabilities to their customers.

The LED toner iTech CENTRA HS Digital Label Printer images consumer-quality labels with brilliant, durable, consistent color at 1200 dpi X 600 dpi, at speeds up to 30 feet per minute. It delivers high definition printing with four-color stochastic screening. With a maximum width of 12.9 inches, the printer has a wide degree of substrate flexibility that does not require top coating. The CENTRA HS prints on most standard pressure sensitive paper substrates, which are typically half to a third the cost of inkjet substrates. White, metallic and clear polyester films are also available.

Included with all iTech HS printers is a Wasatch SoftRIP, easy to use software that manages all print job parameters. The intuitive layout features enable users to maximize substrate usage to minimize waste. A full suite of color control capabilities – ICC color management, tone curve reproduction and unique and powerful spot color replacement features – enhances the print quality of the iTech HS printers. The SoftRIP’s color atlas generator internally produces 36,000 process tints for spot color matching and also has an on-board label cost estimating tool. A variable data print option is available – enabling sequential numbering and bar codes along with graphic elements.

The roll-to-roll iTech CENTRA HS Digital Label Finisher can laminate and contour-cut labels of any size and shape on-demand, without a die. As with all iTech digital finishers, print to cut registration is accomplished via the SMARTMark Optical Registration System, using the Allen DirectCut plug-in to Adobe Illustrator or Corel Draw for vector-based die lines. The digital finisher also strips the waste matrix and slits to dual rewinds enabling finished labels to be hand or machine applied. Its touch screen interface makes it easy to set up and operate. Requiring no dies, make-ready, or running waste, the iTech CENTRA HS Finisher can convert label substrates from 5 inches to 14 inches wide, which have been printed by any digital or analog printing process.

iTech AXXIS HS: A more productive table-top digital label system

“ADSI has engineered the iTech AXXIS HS Digital Label System to offer exceptional productivity and cost efficiency. Thousands of labels can be produced in just a few hours,” comments Vanover. “The iTech AXXIS HS Digital Label System also offers ADSI’s promise of a complete table-top label production system printing high quality labels at an astonishingly low total cost per label.”

The LED toner iTech AXXIS HS Digital Label Printer images consumer-quality labels with brilliant, durable, consistent color at 1200 dpi X 600 dpi, at speeds up to 25 feet per minute. It delivers high definition printing with four-color stochastic screening. With a maximum width of 8.5 inches, the printer has a wide degree of substrate flexibility that does not require top coating and is capable of being used standalone in a pre-die cut label workflow. The AXXIS HS prints on most standard pressure sensitive paper substrates, which are typically half to a third the cost of inkjet substrates. White, metallic and clear polyester films are also available.

Requiring no dies, make-ready, or running waste, the iTech AXXIS HS Finisher can convert label substrates from 4 inches to 8.5 inches wide, which have been printed by any digital or analog printing system.

“The expertise offered by Allen Datagraph has always been two-fold,” adds Vanover. “We believe we produce the best digital finishing systems with an unmatched economic value proposition for the label industry. And, we are able to integrate exceptional print engines to match the quality and performance of our finishing systems.”

“The digital label market continues to grow at double digit rates and those of our customers who are print providers say that our systems help them gain new business and market share while retaining current customers by supplying on-demand short label runs—something that’s difficult to do with larger systems. Our systems offer label printers a new, profitable business opportunity, concludes Vanover. “As always, we expect that our digital label systems will attract a lot of attention during Labelexpo.”
