Modern Press Equips its Lithrone S40 with Komori’s Award Winning H-UV Innovative Curing and Drying System

Press release from the issuing company

Rolling Meadows, ILKomori America Corporation, a premier manufacturer of sheetfed and web offset printing presses, today announced that Modern Press, a commercial printer, mailer and fulfillment company located in New Brighton, Minnesota, has recently added an H-UV curing system to its six-color Lithrone S40 (LS640). Key drivers in adding the advanced technology to the press included its ability to deliver outstanding print quality and a bindery ready sheet for fast job cycle time.

“Today it is extremely important to set your business apart,” said Kelley Frain, vice president of Modern Press. “Komori’s H-UV system opens up a host of opportunities by allowing us to use a variety of coatings when printing on different substrates for packaging applications, large format signage and more. The print quality is outstanding, and having the ability to go from the press directly to bindery has significantly improved our efficiency and job turnaround times. Jobs we used to outsource we are now able to do in-house. That makes us very happy.”

The H-UV system also operates in the “non-ozone” wavelength of the UV spectrum, making it an eco-friendly alternative and eliminating the need for venting. Using only one bulb in the delivery of the press to cure the sheet also significantly reduces cost over conventional UV.

“Combining the Lithrone S40 with Komori’s H-UV creates a system that delivers not only exceptional print quality, but also truly optimizes efficiency,” said Jacki Hudmon, senior vice-president of sales at Komori. “We are pleased that the addition of the H-UV system is supporting Modern Press’ ability to produce innovative applications quickly and cost-effectively.”
