American Forest & Paper Association Comments on USDA's BioPreferred Program Final Rule

WASHINGTON - American Forest & Paper Association President and CEO Donna Harman issued the following statement about the U.S. Department of Agriculture's BioPreferred program final rule.

"The rule publication is a step in the right direction on an issue that's very important to our industry. Paper and wood products are biobased by their very nature, and manufacturers are developing new and exciting products all the time to meet consumers' changing needs. We look forward to seeing the interim guidance that USDA plans to release in the next month that addresses the issue of what is considered innovative, and we will eagerly await a more permanent rule next year."
