SUN Automation Group® Celebrates Sustainable Manufacturing Following EU Circular Economy Package

Press release from the issuing company

On the heels of last month’s Circular Economy package published by the European Commission, SUN Automation Group®, a global leader within the corrugated industry, has reaffirmed its commitment to environmental sustainability.

The proposal by the European Commission plans move Europe towards zero waste by boosting recycling, preventing the loss of valuable materials and reducing greenhouse emissions and environmental impacts.

Notable to the corrugated industry, the proposal aims to increase packaging waste recycling/re-use to 80% in 2030 with a paper-specific target to reach 90% by 2025.

“Many of our products provide scrap saving solutions that eliminate rejections and returned boxes,” said Rob Dal Lago, General Manager EMEA at SUN Automation. “Our innovative products drastically reduce waste thus supporting environmental sustainability.”

SUN Automation’s products - such as MicroGrind®, SunTrac®, AccuPrint®, and Extend-O-Feed® - provide customers including box makers, converters and packaging specialists across multiple sectors with high levels of productivity and lower maintenance costs, together with the benefit of helping them to comply with the EU’s latest green initiatives.

Rob Dal Lago added: “We are proud of our eco-friendly track record and look forward to our continued commitment to sustainability in Europe, and across the globe.”
