Domtar Reports Preliminary Q2 Results

MONTREAL - Domtar Corporation (NYSE: UFS) (TSX: UFS) today reported net earnings of $40 million ($0.61 per share) for the second quarter of 2014 compared to net earnings of $39 million ($0.60per share) for the first quarter of 2014 and net loss of $46 million ($0.69 per share) for the second quarter of 2013. Sales for the second quarter of 2014 were $1,385 million.

Excluding items listed below, the Company had earnings before items¹ of $40 million ($0.61 per share) for the second quarter of 2014 compared to earnings before items¹ of $42 million ($0.65 per share) for the first quarter of 2014 and earnings before items¹ of $16 million ($0.24 per share) for the second quarter of 2013.
