Press release from the issuing company

SÃO PAULO, BRAZIL – During ExpoPrint Latin America 2014, Sun Chemical will introduce commercial and publication printers to a wide range of solutions that enhance pressroom efficiency, meet sustainability requirements and produce outstanding quality prints at high speeds.

Commercial and publication printers that visit Hall C, Booth #14C will learn about a variety of sheetfed inks that are used extensively in Europe and/or North America with success as well as publication solutions whichprint consistently across a growing range of improved paper stocks and grades.

Sun Chemical Sheetfed Inks Designed to Improve Pressroom Efficiency and Sustainability Goals

The Sun Chemical family of SunLIt® sheetfed inks for the commercial market that will be on display at ExpoPrint are all formulated with a high proportion of renewable raw materials which contribute to sustainability initiatives, and each ink is fully aligned with the measures of print standardization (ISO 12647:2).

One of the newest offerings at the stand include SunLit® Crystal universal sheetfed offset process inks, an ‘all-in-one’ ink solution designed for print work where visual impression is key. SunLit Crystal inks enable printers to produce highly appealing prints while maintaining effectiveness in the printing process. The printing ink can be used on straight or perfecting presses of all sizes and is the ideal solution if one or more presses are supplied from a pumping station. The SunLit Crystal solution is faster in work & turn than most standard printing inks and its high drying capability leads to print work with very good mechanical resistance, ensuring optimum pressroom efficiency.

Sun Chemical’s SunLit® Triumph® Max commercial sheetfed inks are formulated for high speed printing and high abrasion resistance on a wide variety of stocks, thereby increasing productivity and print fidelity. These inks come to color fast, reduce start-up waste, and provide the press stability needed to improve overall job consistency. Formulated to produce an abrasion-resistant film which works well on uncoated and matte type stocks, the inks dry hard enough to not scuff in finishing operations, which improve bindery handling on the paper substrates that are used.

The fast setting properties of SunLit Diamond inks significantly reduce cylinder build up, cleaning frequency, and sheet guide marking, saving customers money by avoiding waste print, increasing uptime, and eliminating the challenges of the perfecting printing process at high speeds.

SunLit Diamond can be used on all offset presses of different sizes and formats, and provides excellent printing results on the different papers and boards used in commercial printing, giving customers the option of using one ink series for all of its presses. A switch to one ink series would reduce ink inventory, avoid cleaning the presses between runs, and increase press time, saving valuable warehouse space and money.

Designed for use on all types of sheetfed presses and perfecting machines, SunLit Exact PSO sheetfed offset inks offer top quality 4-color process printing. Suitable for publication, commercial, and package printing, SunLit Exact PSO offers strong lithographic stability at all press speeds, excellent dot reproduction, and good stack capability.

Sun Chemical to Showcase Broad Portfolio of Publication Inks

Sun Chemical also offers a broad portfolio of high value coldset and heatset inks for the Latin American publication printing market. Addressing Latin American heatset printers’ needs for ink to print consistently across a growing range of improved paper stocks and grades, Sun Chemical will showcase its SunMag™ ink series for catalog, magazines and ad inserts.

SunMag inks are suited for presses that produce magazine, coupon and advertising insert work and provide superb performance on conventional and stochastic screening technologies. Formulated to address the challenges of light weight coated (LWC), medium weight coated (MWC), and wood free coated substrates, SunMag inks were developed to give consistent color control and optimum ink-water balance across a wide range of press equipment.

If SunLit® Crystal is a universal sheet fed process ink series (‘all-in-one’), why would one need a Triumph® or Diamond® line when Crystal® does everthing?

Just curious.
