Jetrion Makes Drupa Debut With New Technologies

Press release from the issuing company

ANN ARBOR, MI, April 13, 2004 — Jetrion LLC, a leading global provider of advanced products, services and specialized solutions for industrial inkjet applications, and a separate business unit of Flint Ink, will make its first appearance at drupa (Hall 3, Stand E52). Jetrion will introduce breakthrough technologies comprising a fusion of ink, hardware and integrated solutions that meet the growing requirements of printers, converters, packagers and direct mailers for higher-performance inkjet production and quality. Jetrion will be hosting a press conference at drupa on Thursday, May 6th at 4:00 PM in the Press Briefing Room (Room 27, CCD, Sud, 2.OG). Dr. Kenneth Stack, president of Jetrion, noted, "drupa 2004 gives us our first international venue for the broad spectrum of new hardware, ink products and system integration concepts we have developed in just our first year of operation. From the outset, Jetrion has been committed to the development of inkjet technologies and products that enable companies to achieve higher levels of productivity and quality in all digital printing applications. Visitors to our drupa booth will see how Jetrion has kept that commitment with an exciting array of new products and equipment that confirms we're delivering everything we promised." Breakthrough DOD System Highlighting Jetrion's drupa exhibit will be a live demonstration of its new breakthrough Jetrion 3025 drop-on-demand (DOD) inkjet printing system, developed to provide the commercial printing, publishing and packaging markets with a more flexible, higher quality and lower cost digital printing capability. Starting at 2.4 inches and designed to incorporate multiple printheads for wider applications, the monochrome Jetrion 3025 delivers 300dpi at speeds up to 250 fpm (77 mpm) with UV inks and up to 400 fpm (123 mpm) with solvent inks. The highly reliable Jetrion 3025 provides the lowest running cost of available DOD marking printheads and is especially valuable for higher quality addressing, barcoding and variable messaging on printed products. It offers more substrate printing flexibility than continuous inkjet (CIJ) or toner printing processes, making it ideal for applications requiring secure image application to high-gloss materials, such as those used in labeling and flexible packaging. New High-Performance Inks Jetrion's high-performance ClJ and DOD inks will also be featured in the exhibit booth. The DOD products will include a fast-cure UV ink, a CMYK set of HAPS-free solvent inks, and a new line of low-temperature UV inkjet inks. Expanding on its broad portfolio of high-performance inks for Domino, Scitex, VideoJet and Willett digital printing systems, Jetrion will also introduce a new family of CIJ inks specially formulated to help printers and converters reduce OEM consumables costs by as much as 40 percent without compromising performance or service. The new CIJ inks complement Jetrion's comprehensive lines of DOD and customized inkjet inks for widely-used industrial printing systems. New Advanced Printer Management System The Jetrion Bindery Manager system will be another important centerpiece of the company's drupa exhibit. A powerful industrial printer management system, the Jetrion Bindery Manager links data networking technology with industrial inkjet printer technology. With its advanced hardware and software, the Jetrion Bindery Manager interfaces with a broad spectrum of printer makes and models. The system provides several key networked benefits, including consolidated management of multiple industrial printers, centralized storage of printer operating data and an integrated data view to monitor faults and print/product throughput. New Ultra-High Resolution Inkjet System Jetrion's drupa presentation will also spotlight its new Jetrion 2300 ultra-high resolution inkjet coding and marking system for packaging applications. The Jetrion 2300 system employs state-of-the-art impulse piezo printhead technology capable of using multiple ink types to print everything from outer case barcodes, sequential numbers and sell-by dates to text messages and logos onto a wide range of media at extremely high resolution. The PC-based multi-use Jetrion 2300 controller uses the Windows XP operating system. Available in a variety of configurations with XJ 128 and XJ-500 printheads by Xaar, the Jetrion 2300 opens new opportunities for ultra-quality inkjet applications in a wide range of high-value markets.
