Press release from the issuing company

Charlotte, North CarolinaGlobal anilox roll supplier Harper Corporation of America was an active participant and demonstrator at the Printed Electronics Networking Event on June 27, 2014. The event was hosted by Western Michigan University’s Center for the Advancement of Printed Electronics (PE) and was held at the College of Engineering and Applied Sciences within the WMU Business and Technology Park in Kalamazoo, MI. It was sponsored by the Michigan Tech Transfer Talent Network (T3N), which is responsible for the transfer of university technology to the marketplace in order to create job opportunities for graduates and positive economic development for the community, state, and general public in the state of Michigan.

The event brought together almost 100 representatives of companies and establishments wanting to learn more about opportunities in PE. Harper Corporation of America participated in the table top of suppliers, manufacturers, and experts within the field that was set up to introduce attendees to the companies that could best help them learn about the different facets of PE. There were several corporate presentations, a keynote speaker, facility tours, and print demonstrations. The Harper representative, as part of the QD™ flat bed ink proofer system demonstration, explained the differences and unique capabilities of the Flexo and Gravure processes as they apply to PE.  The QD™ system simulated flexo solid or imaged printing in addition to direct and offset gravure solid or imaged printing. The demonstration showed the versatility of the QD™ system and Harper’s laser engraved ceramic XDI imaged gravure cylinders.
