Two Goss insert presses for Pro Line Printing, Nevada

Press release from the issuing company

April 13th, 2004 - Goss International has received an order from Pro Line Printing for two Goss insert commercial presses for its new Reno, Nevada facility. Pro Line Printing started in 1999 by John Brown and Leslie Dover in Pineville, North Carolina. In less than five years, Pro Line has added three more plants in Arlington, Texas, Avon, Connecticut and now Reno, Nevada. It was recently awarded the prestigious 'Printer of the Year' award by the Wal-Mart company for its overall printing performance. Each of the two new four-unit Goss heatset insert presses has a 21" cut-off. The Goss C700I(tm) 66" wide press is rated at 85,000cph and is equipped with the award winning Goss DigiRail(tm) Digital Inking System. This is the first time the award-winning Digital Inking System has been installed on a customer commercial web press. The Goss C548(tm) 48" wide press is rated at 65,000cph with a one around plate cylinder. The two presses will form a parallel press line and will interface with existing Goss press equipment. Tom Reardon, Goss International Senior Sales Manager stated that, "The flexibility of the installation is very unique. It can share paging between the two presses or the individual presses can be operated independently." The Goss C700I is a high print quality insert press system. Running 'straight,' the C700I offers ultra high throughput for longer print runs while in the 'collect' mode, it produces high pagination. The Goss C548(tm) is a one-around plate cylinder high-flexibility insert press system, offering quick make-ready, fast turnaround and high versatility. According to Jerry Pfister, Pro Line's Vice President - Expansion & Development, "With competitive pressure from both insert and gravure printers, it is necessary that presses enable us to maximize productivity while upgrading print quality. The three-form rollers on these presses help us compete in the high-end market even printing on 70# coated stock." Including these presses, Pro Line has now purchased a total of eight Goss insert presses. "The C700I is the most reliable, fast, three-form roll insert press ever designed," Pfister continued. "It is the industry standard providing the right balance of consistent high net output with low maintenance cost. Also, the Goss team does a great job, listening to our concerns and coming up with smart, practical solutions. Their presses have the right features for the market. Obviously, we're big Goss fans." The first of the new presses will be installed this coming summer.
