NPOA Launches Second Major Industry Survey

Wage and Benefit Survey Follows on the Heels of Recently Completed Financial Benchmarking Study

MELBOURNE, FL – The National Print Owners Association (NPOA) has launched the 2014-2015 Quick Printing Industry Wage & Benefits Survey. This second major printing industry survey comes immediately after the completion and publication of the NPOA 2014-2015 Benchmarking Study.

The latest survey will cover 19 key positions in the quick and small commercial printing industry, plus compensation practices for outside sales representatives. Positions covered include general managers, customer service reps, senior graphic artists, digital and offset press operators, bindery operators, mailing services operators, plus 12 other positions. The survey also covers healthcare costs and employee benefits.

According to survey author and NPOA Executive Director John Stewart, the survey should take the typical firm less than 20 minutes to complete. Companies that complete the survey will receive a free copy of the survey results. Participation is not limited to NPOA members and survey details can be found at www.printowners.org.

Benchmarking Study

The NPOA 2014-2015 Benchmarking Study, a 100+ page analysis of key financial ratios dealing with industry profitability has been completed and is now available at the NPOA Bookstore. Sponsored by Ricoh-USA, this biennial study offers a detailed look at financial performance broken down by annual sales volume, population density, geographic location, number of outside sales representatives, franchise vs. independent as well as by profitability quartiles.One positive finding was that the average net owners compensation was 13.67%, the first time tht figure topped 13% since 2005.

Not only did Benchmarking Study participants receive a free copy of the completed survey but also the 30-page Executive Summary has been made available as a free download to all NPOA members whether or not they participated in the survey.
