Press release from the issuing company

Graphic Design USA and POPAI Recognize InnerWorkings’ Outstanding Point-of-Purchase and Design Services for Kahlúa, Jameson Irish Whiskey, and PNC Financial Services

CHICAGO - InnerWorkings, Inc., a leading global marketing execution firm, announced that Point of Purchase Advertising International (POPAI) awarded InnerWorkings with a Silver Medal for its Kahlúa display and two Bronze Medals for its Jameson Irish Whiskey displays at its Annual Outstanding Marketing at Retail Achievement (OMA) Awards Competition. In addition, InnerWorkings was the recipient of five Certificates of Excellence in the Graphic Design USA: 2014 American In-house Design Awards Competition for the creative work executed for PNC Financial Services.

Recognition in this category reinforces the company’s expanded services offering, which in recent years has evolved from a primary focus on print management into the design, production management and delivery of all marketing materials and physical brand experiences.

“These awards validate our commitment to offering creative services that drive total marketing execution for the brands we serve. We’re honored to have our on-site design support and impactful Point-of-Purchase display expertise recognized by the marketing industry,” said Michael Kolbrener, Managing Director of Creative Services for InnerWorkings. “We’re especially proud of the results Jameson Irish Whiskey and Kahlúa have achieved based on our collaborative design relationships.”

POPAI’s OMA Awards

More than 460 entrants from 75 different companies entered themselves in 27 industry categories during this year’s 56th OMA Awards Competition. InnerWorkings received the following awards for Point of Purchase display designs for these Pernod Ricard brands:

  • Silver Medal for the Kahlúa Spectacular Display with Steam – The coffee cup display – with a custom-built motion-sensor smoker unit inside – helped Kahlúa experience a 12 percent sales increase during the display activation period.
  • Bronze Medal for the Jameson Distillery Rack Display – With a display of stacked barrels to showcase their bottles, Jameson witnessed a 13 percent sales increase during the display period.
  • Bronze Medal for the Jameson Barrel Rack Display with Dimensional Pole Topper – With a display of bottles shelved within a barrel topped with a cooler of iced product, Jameson experienced a 13 percent sales increase during the display activation period.

“A true partner from the start of the concept to retail execution, InnerWorkings gets us there with expertise, value and timeliness. We depend on them to make us look good, both internally and with our customers.” said Carol Giaconelli, POS Director for Pernod Ricard.

Graphic Design USA: 2014 American In-house Design Awards

For more than five decades, Graphic Design USA has sponsored competitions that spotlight areas of excellence and opportunity. For the ninth straight year, more than 4,000 entries were submitted and InnerWorkings received five awards based on the following submissions.

  • WorkPlace Banking Brochure, Consumer Brochure, and Employee Brochure – Designed to attract companies and their employees to bank with PNC, these brochures help to influence more than 50,000 employers to participate in WorkPlace Banking.
  • PNC Branch Merchandising Campaign – This material was successfully designed to help consumers understand the full breadth of products and services that PNC offers.

“Having InnerWorkings serve as our on-site creative design studio is proving to be a success. The team brings design leadership and skills and takes the time to fully understand our goals before presenting fresh ideas,” said Deborah Van Valkenburgh, SVP, Strategic Brand Management – Corporate Marketing, PNC. “By leveraging the full power of InnerWorkings capabilities from strategy through to design to execution of marketing materials, we also realize marketing supply chain efficiencies that contribute to bottom-line results.”
