Advocate Printing acquires Duplo 646 Slitter, cutter, creaser and perforator from Sydney Stone

Press release from the issuing company

Advocate Printing & Publishing, with locations across the east coast of Canada visited the Graphics Canada show in November 2013 and were impressed with the latest offering from Duplo – the Duplo DC 646. With enhanced features over the reliable and long standing Duplo 645 this latest model offers enhanced feeding, ability to produce business cards without a dedicated business card module and some highly attractive options for perforating all on a machine that is easily setup via computer. With these new features at the forefront Advocate decided on the show floor to purchase the unit with Sydney Stone

“With other Duplo equipment at our plant in Dieppe, New Brunswick we had confidence in the product range, and after previously reviewing the  Duplo 645 at Graph Expo we recognized the additional features with this latest model and knew it was the correct solution for us" said _Jason Hamilton Director of Digital Operations of Advocate Printing & Publishing."We chose Sydney Stone as we had confidence that the solution, support, and business relationship would be a strong benefit to us for this solution and in the future for further growth – which they absolutely have thus far.”

The Duplo DC-646 Slitter/Cutter/Creaser is Duplo's versatile digital color finisher providing printers the ability to create a multitude of unique full-bleed applications with more efficiency and flexibility. Performing up to 8 slits, 25 cuts and 20 creases in a single pass, the DC-646 eliminates white borders and prevents toner cracking on fold lines up to 30 sheets per minute and also offers optional rotary tool and cross perforating modules, both with strike-perforating capabilities, for increased versatility. With the DC-646, users can produce 24-up business cards on 12" x 18" or 36-up on 14" x 26" paper sizes, slit-score greeting cards, micro-perforated coupons, direct mailers with tear-away cards, and much more!

“We visited with Jason Hamilton and Sean Murray CEO/President of Advocate at the Graphics Canada show to discuss the various options available to them and we could see very clearly that the perforating capabilities of the new Duplo DC 646 were very valuable to their production.  Having complete automation in their digital finishing department offered efficiency and the versatility of this system enables processing of such a wide variety of work that it can be utilized on a daily basis which enhances the ROI.”  Said Michael Steele Co-Owner of Sydney Stone
