Agfa Graphics shows how to integrate print into manufacturing

Press release from the issuing company

To Agfa Graphics, InPrint2014 proved to be an excellent platform to show how its industrial inkjet inks and inkjet printing systems can tackle new industrial print applications. At FESPA Digital in Munich, Agfa Graphics' solutions for industrial inkjet will also be presented.

The first ever InPrint show, targeted at industrial printing, took place in Hannover, Germany. With the strapline ‘Your partner to integrate print into manufacturing’, Agfa Graphics demonstrated how inkjet technology enables businesses to integrate print into their industrial manufacturing lines to assist the function, decoration or manufacturing of the device.

At InPrint, Agfa showed off its strengths, which lie in the development of UV inkjet ink formulations that can be tuned to specific applications, as well as in a profound knowledge of the integration of all the separate elements in an industrial inkjet printing process. In addition, Agfa Graphics' software experience can be of benefit to system integrators, especially with respect to color management, variable data processing and data pre-flighting. Depending on the specific demand, even complete systems can be offered to integrate print in an industrial environment.

Agfa teamed up with no less than ten technology partners; amongst them system integrators, OEMs and suppliers of print heads and UV-curing systems.

Many of the 5000 high-level visitors of InPrint2014, including system integrators, converters, industrialists, brand owners, enablers and journalists, came with specific requests to the Agfa booth. Apart from the industrial inks for packaging and label printing, product printing decoration (e.g. printing on deco paper for laminate), marking and coding, Agfa also showed a complementary offer of dispersions and coating solutions, pellets, screen and inkjet printing inks, as well as conductive nano-silver and polymer inks for printed electronics.

“We have introduced Agfa to new potential customers from diverse lines of business. Our expertise concerning the individual components along with our integration know-how in the Sign and Display printer market met with very big interest. The market is clearly ready for our message and offering”, said Tom Cloots, Industrial Print Manager, Agfa Graphics.

Agfa’s team built the groundwork for many new projects with high ink volume potential during the show. The top five industries were automotive, home appliances, food packaging, product decoration and deco laminate printing.

May 20 to 23, Agfa Graphics will present its industrial inkjet solutions at FESPA Digitalin Munich, Germany.
