Colorific to troop out rejuvenated Uniform Grenadier with Lightbar Revive at Sign UK 2014

Press release from the issuing company

It may have been a full decade since the 1.37m (54″) Uniform Grenadier took the UK market by storm, but it remains a veteran of the country’s display production force. Having racked up more than 1,000 installations, the Grenadier made an indelible impression with its ability to run a true solvent ink, extending the range of printable substrates beyond coated media and revolutionising the way many display producers operated.

In celebration, Colorific will demonstrate a ten-year-old Grenadier, refreshed by a Lightbar Revive, at Sign and Digital UK next week.

“Why would you show a ten-year-old printer?” explores Shaun Holdom, business development director for Colorific. “It’s not about the hardware: it’s about how the latest ink technology can give new life to an old engine. We’ve already installed more than 20 Lightbar Revive units in the UK across a number of platforms, including Mutoh, Mimaki and Roland, with phenomenal results.”

Conversion can be applied to new and old machines alike, with users able to take advantage of instant application and improved head performance immediately. Lightbar Revive eliminates the need for a single day of outgassing and also reduces media shrinking post-print to imperceptible levels, while reduced solvent content extends the life of the whole ink delivery system.

“ We understand that customers still want to maximise the investment in their printer and the Lightbar Revive does that, also anyone with a 5 year or older solution should really consider upgrading  their existing system, simply on the fact there has been major improvements to print head technology and RIP performance. This is why we are also demonstrating the unique Lightbar UV640PC Solution the first SUV print and cut device, based on the best selling Roland VS-i 640”

“This printer scores on so many levels,” adds Justin Atkinson, technical manager for the British manufacturer. “How many times have you forgotten to remove the pinch wheels when cutting? With our UV Light inks, you don’t need to worry: the media is dry as soon as it passes through the bar. And how many times have you left a cut job, only to find that the print has shrunk? With Lightbar, the ink sits on the media, and isn’t affected by the cut lines.”

“We’re so confident in the solution that we are now adding a 3 year warranty covering all parts and labour, plus an unprecedented accidental damage cover”

Colorific can be found at stand J30, and welcomes discussions with owners of printers of any age.
