Baker Goodchild Makes Significant Investment in New Printing Equipment

Press release from the issuing company

Birmingham-based direct mail fulfilment and print management services provider, Baker Goodchild, has made a significant investment in new printing equipment to meet its expanding customer needs and requirements.

The investment has been made in the purchase of a Konica Minolta Bizhub Pro C6000L, which is ideal for improving functionality and production turnaround times for both Direct Mail and Variable Data Print (VDP) applications, making it a perfect fit for Baker Goodchild’s Direct Mail Solutions operations.

The Konica Minolta Bizhub Pro has print and copy speed capabilities of up to 60 pages per minute, and up to 4,250 pages input capacity for long print runs, together with double-sided printing up to A3 in size. This version also comes complete with a Booklet Finisher.

An exceptional 1200 x 1200 dpi image resolution quality provides a versatile scanning capability for the reproduction of images, text, graphics and tonal gradations. The Bizhub Pro also comes equipped with a 4GB RAM HDD, and is capable of handling substrates up to 300gsm in thickness.

Absolute print production consistency is also provided with Konica Minolta’s advanced colour processing technologies, which include S.E.A.D. II imaging, FM screening, stability monitoring and density control.

The addition of the Bizhub Pro C6000L follows the Baker Goodchild’s purchase of five Ricoh Pro 116 EX high-speed mono printers and an Astrojet 3800 high speed address ink-jetter, all of which were acquired by Baker Goodchild in July last year.

Based in the heart of Birmingham, close to the city centre, Baker Goodchild is a privately-owned company with over 19 years extensive experience in providing print, mail and postage solutions, throughout the UK and Internationally.

Recently promoted Managing Director Lorraine Burnell revealed the reasons behind the company’s decision to purchase such a significant piece of digital print equipment.

Lorraine said: “We looked at adding to our existing capabilities to provide a flexible, variable data print option, that not only provided speed, but also functionality and cost-saving benefit options to both ourselves, and more importantly our customers’ requirements. The Bizhub Pro C6000L provided all those capabilities and more.”

Lorraine continued, “With the addition of this new equipment we have not only added to our services but expanded them. We feel it is important that we look to not only update, but also increase our options to customers, so we keep ahead of their requirements and can maintain and expand our quick, cost efficient and reliable service turnaround.”
