First Open House of 2014: Nordic Day at KBA in Radebeul

Friday, March 28, 2014

Press release from the issuing company

The open-house season 2014 kicked off on 13 March with a KBA Nordic Day event at the plant in Radebeul. Printers and potential customers from Sweden and Finland were invited to find out more about the latest developments regarding medium and large-format Rapidas.

Printers from Scandinavia met at the Nordic Day at KBA in Radebeul. Shown here product manager Anja Hagedorn presents the Rapida 75 (1)

The day began with a presentation on the latest innovations and trends in sheetfed offset. The visiting Scandinavian printers were treated to a series of print demos starting with HR-UV on a Rapida 75. This was followed by the production of four-colour print samples with high ink coverage printed on 80gsm (51½lb) paper. The subsequent job was on board with additional drip-off finishing effects. The next demo took place on an eight-colour Rapida 105 with a focus on comparing conventional and HR-UV or LED-UV printing. The visitors could thus directly examine the results of each drying process in four-colour perfecting. Last but not least the printing instructors demonstrated fast job changes on a Rapida 145 with simultaneous printing plate changing and inline finishing with drip-off coating.

Further events are in the pipeline. On 14 and 15 May packaging printers from all over the world will gather at KBA under the banner “Packaging. Competence. Network. 2014”, just after Interpack in Düsseldorf has closed its doors. This is followed by an event on 13 June for label printers and on 27 June everything will revolve around commercial printing. Interested parties are welcome to contact their sales representative responsible to register for these events.
