Graphic Systems North America lead distributor of Ryobi press technology in U.S. and Canada

HIROSHIMA, Japan - Newly formed RYOBI MHI Graphic Technology, Ltd. spotlighted its full portfolio of sheetfed offset press technology at an open house earlier this month at its Japan headquarters.  The event drew more than 300 print industry leaders worldwide. 

New offerings in package printing, general commercial printing, specialty printing, security printing and LED-UV instant curing were demonstrated at the RYOBI MHI headquarters manufacturing facility outside Hiroshima.

Representatives from the company’s U.S. and Canadian distribution group, Graphic Systems North America, attended the open house with customers. GSNA markets and sells to commercial, in-plant, specialty and package printers. 

RYOBI MHI president Hideki Domoto said the new company’s press technology enables printers to enter lucrative new markets, reduce manufacturing costs, cut the total cost of press ownership and improve the environmental performance.  RYOBI MHI brings together the best technology from Ryobi and Mitsubishi, which combined have more than 140 years of press manufacturing expertise.  RYOBI MHI ranks among the largest press manufacturers worldwide.

RYOBI MHI offers a total of 16 main sheetfed press models, each available in a wide range of custom configurations.  These include six separate 44-inch and 41-inch presses, six separate presses in 2- to 8-up format, and the broadest selection of small format offset presses.

GSNA is authorized to sell all RYOBI MHI presses and technologies, but focuses on the following:

• RYOBI 920 series:  The Ryobi flagship 8-up press available in up to 10 colors with convertible perfector and coater.  Runs up to 16,200 sph.
• RYOBI 750 series:  The Ryobi 6-up press available in up to 10 colors with convertible perfector and coater.  Runs up to 16,000 sph.
• RYOBI 520 series:  This 2-up press is available in up to 6 colors with convertible perfector and coater.  Runs up to 15,000 sph.
• RYOBI LED-UV INSTANT CURING SYSTEM:  This state-of-the-art instant drying technology, co-developed with Panasonic, is built into Ryobi’s 2-, 6- and 8-up presses.  Energy usage and cost is cut up to 80% versus conventional dryers and no spray powders or special ducting is needed. Print is completely dry immediately upon delivery and synthetic substrates do not shrink.
• RYOBI UV CASTING AND FOILING SYSTEM: Used with the RYOBI 750G series, this technology enables inline production of a large variety of high-value specialty and security printing, including holography and foiling.
