Xitron to Offer Technology Preview at IPEX

Press release from the issuing company

European debut of scalable prepress workflows for commercial, flexographic, and packaging applications

Ann Arbor, MichiganXitron, the leading independent developer of RIP and workflow products for the printing industry, will be introducing several new applications during IPEX 2014 in London, March 24th through the 29th. Building on core technology developed by Xitron, Global Graphics (Harlequin) and Adobe, the workflow applications take into account the special needs of several printing markets.

“One size does not fit all when it comes to prepress workflows,” said Eric Nelsen, Xitron’s Vice President of Product Development. “If you try to force a commercial printing workflow into a flexographic, label, narrow web, or packaging environment, it will lack much of the functionality necessary to be effective. By designing tools specific to each segment, we can customize the workflows accordingly and eliminate the need for workarounds.”

Xitron will preview the concepts of Navigator Flexo, Navigator Packaging, and Navigator Digital as scalable additions to the long-successful Navigator workflow used in thousands of commercial prepress facilities around the world. “The enhancements for flexography and label applications include custom marks, bearer bar creation, ink remapping, and an advanced step & repeat interface,” said Nelsen. “With the packaging product we take it a few steps further, adding tools such as vector-based trapping and sophisticated nesting with isolated bleed control.”

Exhibiting in North Hall N5-B390, Xitron will be demonstrating this workflow functionality to its European channel partners during a series of scheduled seminars throughout the show.
