Improved Dot-Proofing in DigiPage 5.1 by Fusion Systems International

Press release from the issuing company

Dec 19, 2008. Portland, OR -- Fusion Systems International today announced release of version 5.1 of its DigiPage ROOM workflow automation solution. Key enhancements include packaging application support (such as nesting and step and repeat), improved file handling and Dynamic Job Routing, advances in performance, and improved dot-proofing.

Packaging Application Support

New options within the DigiPage workflow solution, with easy configuration from a setup window, allow DigiPage to better integrate into packaging environments where nesting and step-and-repeat of image elements are required. DigiPage is uniquely adept in this environment, since oddly shaped image elements can be nested for maximum use of space. And since the image is pre-RIPped, final output is a much less complex job for the workflow. The RIP needs only to stitch together the pre-RIPped elements, and it doesn't need to interpret and render each graphic in the design. In addition, since each DigiPage can contain up to 16 separations, special-color and multi-color jobs are a snap.

Improved Dot-Proofing

The DigiPage ROOM workflow RIPs individual pages up front and creates proofs from the actual high-resolution plate separations, so proofing accuracy is 100% guaranteed. Now, with improved algorithms and higher-resolution limits, even more accurate dot proofing of page data for inkjet or soft proofs can be achieved. While DigiPage has always rendered press-accurate proofs, these improvements provide for even better fidelity and color matching with the press output.

Advanced Performance Means Greater Productivity

Multi-threading, as well as improved algorithms and new image creation options provide much better performance over prior versions of the DigiPage plugin. Better performance means better resource utilization, compressed production cycles and greater productivity.

Improved File Handling and Output File Naming

Improvements to the Dynamic Job Routing functionality mean more options for output file naming. Advanced template based file naming and filtering allows for sophisticated and flexible routing of page files for automated workflows. This feature greatly reduces or eliminates the possibility of operator error, and enhances productivity while simplifying the user experience.
