Colter & Peterson finds enthusiastic response for new Microcut® systems at GOA

Press release from the issuing company

Paterson, NJ – Miami Beach is well-known for its world famous beaches, warm weather and night clubs.  Even its deep sea fishing in the Atlantic Ocean has gained notoriety.  Mircocut/Colter & Peterson went fishing and came back with quite a catch at Graphics of the Americas, which wrapped up a three day show on March 1 at the Miami Beach Convention Center.

C&P introduced the new Microcut® COLOR WS and Microtrack II automated backgauge retrofit kits.  They proved to be a hit with customers and dealers alike.

“We experienced a tremendous amount of booth traffic and there were people who purchased Microcut packages and took them home with them right off the floor.  It was a very successful show,” said Richard Peereboom, C&P’s Sales Manager for Latin America.

The highly efficient and accurate Microcut control system is extremely popular in all parts of the world with more than 30,000 installations.  It is adaptable to any brand or size paper cutter from 20-150 inches and is a standard feature on C&P’s widely acclaimed Prism® and Saber® brand lines of paper cutters.  In addition to the new systems, North America’s largest independent distributor of paper cutters and paper handling equipment also demonstrated a pair of workhorse systems, the Microcut PLUS and Microcut JR.

“A large portion of the people who visited with us came from Central and South America.  The Microcut retrofit kits resonated with them because there are thousands of older paper cutters in the Latin American market that can benefit from this automated programmable system,” remarked Peereboom.

“The people I spoke with were interested in how productivity can increase by as much as 50% or more for machines that currently are not programmable.  They were impressed to see how accurately Microcut cuts to smaller sizes.  They also liked the improvements we have made to the systems, the more modern look, and how intuitive and user-friendly it is for operators.”

Each Microcut system memorizes the cutting sequences instantly so the backgauge automatically positions itself for each individual cut.  The new Microcut COLOR WS guides correct position movement faster and more accurately with computer-controlled precision.  An 8” wide format touch screen display allows for fast and simple set up.

The new Microtrack II is a digital display and programming guide that increases the accuracy and productivity of manually operated paper cutters.  This cost-effective microprocessor based unit features Manual, Program and Automatic modes that provide visual alerts to make the operator aware of when the backgauge is properly positioned.
