RR Donnelley Named Company of the Year in the Gravure Management Excellence Awards

Honors Include Awards for Safety, Environmental Sustainability and Employee Development

CHICAGO - R. R. Donnelley & Sons Company announced today that it has been named Company of the Year in the 2014 Gravure Management Excellence Awards presented by the Gravure Association of the Americas.The Gravure Association of the Americas is the leading marketing, educational and technical resource for the gravure industry. RR Donnelleyalso won awards in the categories of Employee Safety, Environmental Sustainability, and Employee Development.

"Our continued focus on safety and the effectiveness of our employees, and being mindful of our environmental impact in the communities in which we reside are among our top priorities and key factors in RR Donnelley's ability to serve our customers."

The Gravure Management Excellence Awards program was established to recognize leadership and management excellence in the gravure industry within the Americas and globally. RR Donnelley uses the gravure printing process to print leading consumer magazines, catalogs and retail advertising inserts.

Our commitment is reflected in an OSHA recordable case rate that is 60% below the industry average," stated Michael Manzella, RR Donnelley's Sr. Vice President of Environmental Health, Safety & Quality and Chief Sustainability Officer. "Further, sustainability does not involve making a choice between being cost effective and environmentally conscious. It integrates the two."

Tom Carroll, RR Donnelley's Executive Vice President and Chief Human Resources Officer commented, "We are doing great things in the areas of employee development, retention, and advancement, and it is wonderful to be recognized. RR Donnelley will be honored in the spring issue of Gravure Magazine, which will be published in early May.
