Timely Sessions, Networking Opportunities at Annual Paper Industry Event

WASHINGTON – Paper2014, the paper industry’s premier event, will be held March 23-25 at The New York Palace Hotel in New York City. Co-hosted by the American Forest & Paper Association (AF&PA) and the National Paper Trade Association (NPTA), Paper2014 features an impressive and diverse line-up of speakers, whose presentations will bring new insights and spark discussions.

“At Paper2014, industry leaders will meet to exchange ideas, expand their knowledge about market place issues and find new business opportunities,” said AF&PA President and CEO Donna Harman.  “This year’s sessions offer a dynamic line up of executives, experts and entrepreneurs.” 

At the Industry Leadership Session on March 24^th, a distinguished panel of industry leaders will provide their unique perspectives on emerging trends and opportunities for the paper and paper-based packaging industry. Panelists include John Williams, President and CEO of Domtar; Dante Parrini, Chairman and CEO of Glatfelter; Jack Sanders, President and CEO of Sonoco; John Rooney, President and CEO of Evergreen Packaging; and David McGehee, President of Mac Papers. 

The RISI Global Paper Market Trends Session will feature RISI’s John Maine, vice president, World Graphic Papers, and Ken Waghorne, vice president, World Packaging, who will discuss the market outlook for printing-writing paper, paperboard, and recovered fiber.

Paper2014 Luncheon keynote speaker Alex Sheen, founder of Because I Said I Would, will share his experience as an entrepreneur whose organization uses paper “promise cards” to better humanity.  Sheen will be the featured speaker on March 25^th. At the Luncheon, NPTA will present its Stanley O. Styles Industry Excellence Award.
