AFPA Releases January 2014 Containerboard Statistics Report

WASHINGTON - The American Forest & Paper Association released its January 2014 U. S. Containerboard Statistics Report today.
Containerboard production increased 3.8 percent over December 2013 and was essentially flat compared to the same month last year. The month-over-month average daily production also increased 3.8 percent. Shipments for January were 2,979.8 thousand tons representing 167.8 billion square feet. The containerboard operating rate for January 2014 increased 3 points from December 2013, from 91.5 percent to 94.5 percent.
