PPC Connects Members with New Talent through University Outreach Program

Press release from the issuing company

SPRINGFIELD, MA - The Paperboard Packaging Council (PPC) recently released their new University Outreach Program. Designed to build relationships with leading packaging schools and students, the program provides members with a range of rich opportunities, including presentation materials and a comprehensive list of packaging school internship programs.

The program also provides information on the benefits of sponsoring a packaging design student to attend a PPC conference or workshop free of charge so that students can learn valuable information about the industry and be exposed to PPC's professional, supportive environment. From such an experience, the program expects that students will be more likely to enter the paperboard packaging industry upon graduation and tout the sustainable benefits of paperboard to their fellow students and professors upon their return to class.

Through the University Outreach Program, PPC members also have access to customizable presentations, handouts, and other collateral materials that they can use when giving presentations at their local colleges or universities. Giving such a presentation is both a fantastic opportunity for creating industry advocates in the younger generation and for demonstrating a company’s technical and artistic accomplishments to potential future employees.

“PPC’s University Outreach Program offers members the chance to connect with package design students across North America,” said Ben Markens, president of PPC. “Since these students will eventually transition into strategic roles throughout the industry, we hope that such exposure will lead them to develop an affinity for paper-based packaging that will inform the arc of their careers.”
