Sakurai to Introduce New Presses and New Technology at Gifu Factory Open House

SCHAUMBURG, IL - Sakurai Graphic Systems Corporation will conduct live demonstrations of its new, cutting edge presses and introduce new technology at a Spring Open House scheduled for April 16-19, 2014 at its state-of-the-art factory in Gifu, Japan.

Featured New Offset & Screen Presses & Technology Includes:

Sakurai 880 SDC Series 8-color Offset Press With Coater

Making its world debut, Sakurai will showcase its first 8-color offset press, a Sakurai 880 series press equipped with a variety of drying systems, including IR and LED-UV for special printing applications.  The new, 23 5/8” X 31 1/8” 880 Series 8-color press operates at speeds up to 15,000 sheets per hour.  Following the Open House, Sakura’s first 8-color press will be installed at a commercial printing company’s plant in North America.

Sakurai MSDR60 Direct Drive, Roll-to-Roll Cylinder Screen Press

See the new two-color line, which includes unwinding, vertical type hot/UV combination dryer, intermediate unit, delamination & lamination unit and re-winding unit running thinner film substrates.

Sakurai Vertical Type Hot/UV Combination Dryer 

This new, high-performance combination dryer will be operating with the MSDR60 press. Printed film is turned in the unit vertically, thus around 30 m film can be stored in the unit even the length of the unit is around 4m.

Sakurai ADS-MS80SD Gripper-less Cylinder Screen Press

Sakurai developed the system last year, and has upgraded it to practical use. An exclusive air suction system transports a sheet on the cylinder, instead of grippers, to minimize gripper margin and the non-printed area of sheet.

CST Digital Light Engraver (DLE Compact)

High-resolution (2500 dpi) computer to screen technology. Eliminates film for imaging screen by means of direct UV light engraving onto stencil.

Sakurai will also feature a Model 266SIP 18 ½” x 26” two-color offset perfecting press; a Model 2102EPII 28 3/8” x 40 5/8” two-color offset perfecting press and a Model SC142AII 40 14” x 56” large format Cylinder Screen Press.
