NAPL President Truncale Profiles Printing Industry Challenges In Business Press

Paramus, N.J., Nov. 24, 2003 — Fundamental changes in the printing industry brought about by “the digital world, the Internet, and information available from other sources” represent both “an opportunity and a threat” to printers as they move forward, said Joseph P. Truncale, president and CEO of the National Association for Printing Leadership (NAPL), in an interview with business reporter Teresa M. McAleavy in the Nov. 21, 2003, edition of The Record, a statewide daily newspaper based in Hackensack, N.J. “Companies that understand the opportunity embedded in those changes and equip themselves to take advantage of them are the ones that are going to have a bright future,” Truncale noted. Truncale explained the many ways NAPL helps its members convert competitive threats into opportunities to grow their businesses. “If you’re in the printing and graphic communications business, and want to take advantage of opportunities that will emerge, then NAPL is the place for you. (Helping our members) is all we do,” he noted. “We don’t do any lobbying and we don’t get involved with discounts on rental cars and don’t do luncheon meetings to swap business cards.
