Confidential postcards are often folded for notification and information purposes, and are in increasing demand as an alternative to sealed letters, since direct mail in postcard form can be delivered for less postage. Paper for folding confidential postcards is machine-pressed for adhesion into confidential postcards. An example application is notices issued by financial institutions. However, the glue on the surface has often caused problems when it was used with printing machines or laser printers. Nippon Paper Industries has successfully solved this quality problem with Postino, a new product designed to be highly adherent. The Company will launch the product in mid-November, and aims at annual sales of one billion yen.
