HP Showcases Designjet ePrinter Portfolio and Z Workstations at Autodesk University

Press release from the issuing company

LAS VEGAS – Today at Autodesk University 2013, HP is showcasing its broad portfolio of large-format printing solutions and workstations that offer design professionals increased mobility, ease-of-use and improved productivity.

HP will demonstrate its award-winning portfolio of web-connected, large-format printing solutions, including the new HP Designjet T2500 eMultifunction Printer, and industry-leading HP Z Workstations and Displays built for Autodesk users in booth 1500.

The HP Designjet T2500 eMultifunction Printer brings new customer-driven features to a single, compact device that scans, prints and copies. The integrated scanner makes it easy for professionals in architecture, engineering and construction (AEC); computer-aided design (CAD); and geographic information system (GIS) to incorporate hand-annotated changes, scan and send sketches. The powerful line of HP Z Workstations and displays is ideal for Autodesk users implementing everything from AutoCAD to high-end applications like 3ds Max.

“Tight budgets and schedules require AEC, CAD and GIS professionals to turn around jobs very quickly even when on-the-go,” said Todd Hatfield, Americas Designjet large format category manager, HP. “At Autodesk University 2013, we are demonstrating how innovative HP technologies, such as the HP Designjet T2500 eMultifunction Printer and HP Z Workstations, accommodate the way these professionals work with new features that improve user experience and help them do their jobs more effectively.”

HP technology meets AEC professionals’ needs

A recent study of nearly 450 AEC professionals by CASE, in association with HP, investigated how technology impacts the way architecture, engineering and construction (AEC) firms function on the back-end, including management of projects, knowledge and enterprise resources. The survey found that more than half of participants use project management software to share files with project partners and clients. However, respondents reported that these current systems lack the integration necessary to drive employee engagement with shared data, citing issues related to file-sharing permissions and version control.

Addressing this industry-wide need to more effectively collaborate, the HP Designjet ePrinter portfolio features HP Designjet ePrint & Share, a free web service that makes it easy to access, view and print through the cloud from virtually anywhere.(1) These solutions help AEC and CAD firms work together better and faster, allowing more time for creativity. For example, with web-connected HP Designjet ePrinters and HP Designjet ePrint & Share, users can access multiple FTP sites in one place, automatically save their print history for client billing, generate a hyperlink for one-click access to files and e-mail files directly to the printer.

HP Z Workstations are also engineered for the professional. All HP Z Workstations and Displays are tested and certified for use with Autodesk applications, including AutoCAD, Revit, Inventor and Maya. HP recently announced the expansion of its Z portfolio of professional workstation and display products, including the world’s first workstation UltrabookTM, the HP ZBook 14,(2) and the HP ZBook 15 and HP ZBook 17, which offer Intel’s Thunderbolt technology for high-speed data transfer.(3)
