RyeTAGA and the School of Graphic Communications Management presents School of Print: A Ryerson Seminar Series at Graphics Canada. Third- and fourth-year print students of GCM will be showcasing their interests and research in innovative, print-related topics and invite all attendees of the trade show to come observe, learn, and share knowledge.

These free seminars cover topics such as conductive inks, ubiquitous commerce, accessible packaging and wide-format printing. Originating as live webinars for a project management course, they were adapted for the show floor at Graphics Canada. Groups of students thoroughly investigated their topic, generated hype on social media, wrote blog posts, interviewed knowledgable pros, and rehearsed, and rehearsed, and rehearsed. They worked with industry professionals, GCM faculty, and peers to create an exciting, interesting, educational experience for all involved. Sharing their seminars at Graphics Canada will be the climax of their semester.

Students of the Graphic Communications Management program at Ryerson University are part of the only degree-granting program in Canada for the graphic arts and printing industry. They take courses in layout, typography, prepress, sheetfed offset, web offset, flexography, digital printing, estimating, sales, marketing, accounting and more, to become the future leaders of print companies in the GTA and across Canada. Each of the students presenting have gone above and beyond their regular course work to show off their hard work, and share with attendees what the young adults of the printing industry are interested in.

School of Print has been organized by RyeTAGA: Ryerson University's student chapter of the Technical Association of the Graphic Arts. RyeTAGA supports student life and education through events, fundraisers and through their annual journal publication. The journal includes technical research papers, and is written, designed and produced entirely by students. In the past, RyeTAGA has been recognized at TAGA's Annual Technical Conference for excelling in journal design, technical writing, production quality, and overall quality, and has won the Harvey Levenson Undergraduate Student Paper award four times.
