Prisma Utilizes Latest Technology in Direct Mail

Press release from the issuing company

Intelligent camera system increases efficiencies

PHOENIX, Ariz. – Operating one of the largest in-house mailing facilities in the southwest, Prisma, a full-service marketing solutions firm based in Phoenix, Ariz.  sends out more than 1.75 million pieces a month.  In late 2012, Prisma purchased the W+D BB700 Intelligent Inserter. As one of the first companies to utilize the new technology, Prisma implements highly segmented direct mail campaigns more efficiently and cost effectively.  Prisma is one of a select few in-house mailing facilities in the U.S with this technology.

The capabilities of the W+D BB700 Intelligent Inserter include:

  • Read and print from  linear and 2D barcodes.
  • Selective inserting of up to  7 different inserts
  • Camera technology that can prevent address errors and verify barcodes
  • Can be configured to run a wide-range of coated stock, booklets, and large-format products up to 10x13" as well as standard #10 envelopes

“We are now able to run 100 percent match mailing and conduct selective inserting through the barcode system,” states Sandy Mattson, director of strategy and marketing. “The precision and speed of this machine helps us ensure accuracy and provide cost savings to our clients, which ultimately allows for a more successful targeted campaign.”

The W+D BB700 Intelligent Inserter can process as many as 16,000 direct-mail pieces per hour. Its barcode reader provides enhanced selective inserting capabilities, which allows Prisma to implement segmented direct mail campaigns to targeted audiences.
